Some people sell products from other website owners while others sell products and services that they offer. But whether you are selling your own or others, lots of traffic is what you need for your websites. But what is most important is not just getting traffic, but targeted traffic.
When I first started internet marketing, I experimented on different methods for driving traffic. Some of the software or services that I bought did me no good.
The traffic tactics that I have proven to work well are listed below:
* Linking
Linking can be by either paid or unpaid methods. Adding links in e-zines or in other websites are some examples of paid linking methods. The best suggestion that I can give you is to research the Ezines, newsletters and or other people sites that you want to link with before buying. In most cases, if ezines are accepting advertising, you know they must have at least 500+ subscribers, or I should say, be sure that they have at least 500+ subscribers before advertising in their ezine.
Creating articles is one way of placing links for free . This requires hard work on your part, but the return will be seen in the long term. Make sure the content that you create add value to your target visitors.
* Pay Per Click
If you have some advertising budget, it makes sense to put it in pay per click. In this advertising method, you create an advertisement like in the classified section of the newspaper and bid on the keywords that you would like to target. You will need a lot of time and energy for research and monitoring if you do this manually and do not know the google secret loophole bonus materials. Make sure you understand the rules of the search engine where you want to do PPC before you start your campaigns.
* Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization is basically the optimization of your web pages so that you can get a decent ranking by the search engines. You may have to outsource the optimization of your website as this may be time consuming.
