Perhaps the best advice for aspiring singers is to take things one step at a time. Even a 20 minute performance in front of family and friends can do wonders for building your confidence and skills. Then as you start feeling more confident as a singer you can start lengthening your act.
It’s also a good idea to watch other singers very closely and learn from them as much as you can. Notice how they communicate with their audience and move on stage. Remember that you are not perfect and you will make mistakes. Making mistakes is common to everyone in any profession and the trick is to learn from the mistakes you make to improve.
